Job Description
Provide specialized nursing care as a Registered Nurse on the Bone Marrow Transplant unit, delivering compassionate support to oncology and hematology patients in a dynamic hospital setting. This night shift role requires a committed professional skilled in critical care environments and dedicated to the highest standard of patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Administer care to patients undergoing bone marrow transplants with complex needs including blood and electrolyte replacement, neuro assessments, chemotherapy, and physical therapy support.
- Monitor patients using advanced equipment such as ventilators, Alaris pumps, and Phillips monitors.
- Manage central line dressing changes, high-risk and hazardous drug administration, and perform detailed neuro assessments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and communicate patient updates effectively.
- Float to like units such as stepdown, critical care, and oncology as needed.
- Uphold unit policies including dress code and professionalism while fostering a respectful and supportive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification.
- Experience in stepdown or critical care nursing, blood administration, and central line care.
- Preferred experience includes oncology/hematology and bone marrow transplant care with proficiency in chemotherapy administration and ventilator management.
- Strong communication skills with a team-oriented mindset and dedication to continuous learning.
Schedule:
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM.
- Work every third weekend and holidays as needed.
- Guaranteed 36 hours weekly.
