Job Description

Exciting contract opportunity for a Registered Nurse with experience in Medical-Surgical and Oncology/Hematology settings. This role is based on the Bone Marrow Transplant unit, providing essential care to patients undergoing chemotherapy, long-term IV therapy, and hematology treatments.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night Shift: 7:00pm 7:30am
  • 36 hours per week, with every third weekend (24 hours) and coverage during holidays as required

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license (state compliant)
  • Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
  • ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification
  • Background in stepdown, critical care, blood administration, electrolyte replacement, neuro assessment, and hazardous drug administration
  • Willingness to float to similar units, including stepdown, critical care, and oncology
  • Oncology/Hematology, bone marrow transplant, and chemotherapy experience preferred
  • Proficiency with central line care, vents, drips, and high-risk medication administration is highly desired

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized care to hematology and bone marrow transplant patients
  • Perform blood and electrolyte replacement, neuro assessments, and long-term IV therapy
  • Administer chemotherapy and support patients through physical therapy needs
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care
  • Maintain exemplary documentation using EPIC and Beacon EMR systems
  • Demonstrate flexibility by floating to comparable units as needed
  • Exhibit professionalism, teamwork, initiative, and a compassionate, patient-centric attitude

Additional Details:

  • Unit: 17 beds, patient ratios 1:1 to 1:3
  • Equipment: Vents, Alaris pumps, Philips monitors, Stryker beds, Sara Steady, patient lifts
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (facility-approved attire only)
  • Mandatory online education modules and three orientation shifts provided
  • Parking available in designated staff areas for convenience
