Job Description
A registered nurse with a cardiac focus is needed for a contract assignment in Indian Trail, NC. This position supports a 44-bed med/telemetry unit averaging full patient census. The role requires managing cardiac and general med-surg nursing duties within a collaborative and patient-centered care setting.
Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, IV starts, central line care, wound management, and administering non-titrating cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone. You will work closely with CNAs who assist with ADLs and patient care, supported by a charge nurse and clinical supervisors. The unit uses Epic EMR, Philips monitors, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years experience in Med/Surg or telemetry nursing
- Proficient in cardiac telemetry reading and med-surg nursing skills including IV starts, wound care, NGT placement, and central line management
- Comfortable managing cardiac drips (non-titrating) and blood product administration
- Ability to float within the region as needed, maintaining flexibility for mid-shift transfers
- First-time traveler candidates are welcome
