Job Description

Provide skilled nursing care in a dynamic medical-surgical environment specializing in renal patients. This contract opportunity offers a 3x12-hour day shift schedule (7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.) with a weekend rotation every other weekend and holiday coverage. Nurses will primarily care for a 1:6-7 patient ratio and may float to other med-surg units within the facility to meet operational needs. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients with a renal focus
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Adapt to floating assignments across like units to support facility demands
  • Utilize Epic charting system for accurate documentation
  • Participate in holiday rotations and weekend coverage as scheduled

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse license for South Carolina or Compact RN license prior to assignment start
  • Minimum of 1 year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Ability to accommodate floating between units within scope of practice
  • Approval required for block scheduling requests

Additional Details:

  • Contract position with guaranteed hours, though the facility may call off one shift every two weeks

  • Awareness of seasonal hurricane response assignments between June and November is necessary
  • Locals are not eligible for this position, and applicants within a 60-mile radius are accepted
