Job Description

A challenging opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with critical care expertise to support a busy Cardiovascular Unit in Hamilton City, CA. This contract role requires a dedicated RN to deliver high-level nursing care for medium to high acuity patients with complex cardiac and surgical needs.

This 30-bed unit specializes in medical, pre-operative, and post-operative care, treating patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics with cardiac diagnoses such as acute myocardial infarction, CHF, and arrhythmia, among others. The nurse-to-patient ratio does not exceed 1:4, ensuring focused patient care. Flexibility to float to the Medical/Surgical unit may be required.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current California RN License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of Critical Care nursing experience
  • Proficient in EPIC electronic charting system

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with cardiovascular and related medical conditions
  • Monitor patient status and communicate changes to the healthcare team
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Utilize EPIC for accurate documentation and communication
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Float as needed to the Medical/Surgical unit, adapting to different patient care needs
