Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in an advanced oncology and bone marrow transplant unit known for quality care and teamwork. This role on a dedicated 17-bed unit involves caring for hematology and bone marrow transplant patients who benefit from long-term therapies and close, compassionate monitoring. The environment encourages learning and professional growth, where collaboration and accountability are key.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night shift, 7:00 pm 7:30 am
  • 36 hours per week guaranteed
  • Every third weekend (24-hour shift coverage)
  • Holidays as needed

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certifications
  • Previous experience in stepdown, critical care, and blood administration
  • Strong clinical skills including neuro assessments, electrolyte replacement, and central line care
  • Competency with vents, drips, and high-risk drug handling
  • Oncology/hematology or BMT experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe and skilled nursing care to oncology and bone marrow transplant patients
  • Perform assessments, administer chemotherapy, and manage IV therapies
  • Float as needed to similar units (critical care, stepdown, oncology)
  • Collaborate with an engaged team, providing updates and support
  • Embrace ongoing learning with orientation and continuous education
  • Foster a respectful, guest-centered atmosphere for both patients and colleagues
