Job Description
An excellent opportunity has opened for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join a specialized Bone Marrow Transplant unit within a welcoming healthcare facility. This role centers on the care of patients undergoing complex oncology and hematology treatments, providing a significant impact on their healing journey.
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week, every third weekend rotation (24 weekend hours)
- Holidays as needed
- No call requirements
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification required
- Stepdown and critical care experience including vents, drips, and critical monitoring
- Proficient with blood administration, electrolyte replacement, neuro assessments, and central line dressing changes
- Experience with hazardous drug administration
- Preferred: Oncology, Hematology, chemotherapy, and BMT experience
- Experience with Alaris pumps, Phillips monitors, Stryker beds, and EPIC/Beacon EMR is beneficial
- Adaptability to float to like units (critical care, stepdown, and oncology)
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to hematology and bone marrow transplant patients
- Conduct frequent assessments including neuro checks and implement appropriate interventions
- Administer chemotherapy, IV therapies, and blood products safely
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress using the EPIC/Beacon system
- Collaborate as a positive team member while supporting both patients and colleagues
- Ensure patient dignity, kindness, and respect at all times
Additional Details:
- Navy scrubs required
- Completion of mandatory online education before the first day
- Three orientation shifts provided for onboarding
