Situated in the welcoming town of Gray, GA, this travel nursing position offers a unique chance to experience the charm of the South while enhancing your medical career. Nurses here care for a wide range of patient diagnoses, from orthopedic and trauma cases to complex medical-surgical populations, providing significant opportunities to build confidence and versatility. During your downtime, take advantage of the regions scenic landscapes or engage in new adventures while discovering the close-knit community.
Schedule & Hours:
- 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 (per 6-week cycle)
- Holiday coverage: one shift per each major holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years)
- No on-call shifts
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg/Tele experience
- BLS required
- Basic Cardiac Rhythm (EKG competency) required
- ACLS and national medical-surgical certification preferred
- Ability to manage IVs, wound care, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and coordinate care across disciplines
- Strong patient assessment and discharge planning skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Collaborate with physicians, resource nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
- Conduct patient education, especially renal and fluid management
- Manage central lines, trach care, insulin drips, and advanced monitoring equipment
- Participate in department float pool as needed
