Take the next step as a valued Registered Nurse in a progressive, high-acuity hospital setting. This role supports a patient-focused MedSurg/Telemetry environment within a teaching institution recognized as a Level 1 Trauma and advanced cardiac and stroke care center. Leverage your clinical expertise and passion for patient advocacy while working collaboratively with skilled professionals and supportive ancillary staff.
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- Rotating every 6 weeks
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekends per 6-week cycle
- Holiday coverage: One major holiday per cycle as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience required
- Active RN license and current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- Strong assessment, time management, and care coordination skills
- Proficiency in working with telemetry, including rhythm monitoring, post-cath care, and cardiac medication administration
- Experience in general medical, surgical, cardiac, and orthopedic patient care
- Skills in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, managing drips (insulin, heparin, amiodarone, more)
- Ability to educate patients and support discharge planning effectively
- Certification in MedSurg is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic conditions
- Closely monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs
- Administer and titrate medications and drips as indicated for assigned patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective patient-centered care
- Float between MedSurg/Telemetry units as needed
- Complete required EKG competency and contribute to a supportive unit culture
