Job Description

Take the next step as a valued Registered Nurse in a progressive, high-acuity hospital setting. This role supports a patient-focused MedSurg/Telemetry environment within a teaching institution recognized as a Level 1 Trauma and advanced cardiac and stroke care center. Leverage your clinical expertise and passion for patient advocacy while working collaboratively with skilled professionals and supportive ancillary staff.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
  • Rotating every 6 weeks
  • Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekends per 6-week cycle
  • Holiday coverage: One major holiday per cycle as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience required
  • Active RN license and current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Strong assessment, time management, and care coordination skills
  • Proficiency in working with telemetry, including rhythm monitoring, post-cath care, and cardiac medication administration
  • Experience in general medical, surgical, cardiac, and orthopedic patient care
  • Skills in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, managing drips (insulin, heparin, amiodarone, more)
  • Ability to educate patients and support discharge planning effectively
  • Certification in MedSurg is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic conditions
  • Closely monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs
  • Administer and titrate medications and drips as indicated for assigned patients
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective patient-centered care
  • Float between MedSurg/Telemetry units as needed
  • Complete required EKG competency and contribute to a supportive unit culture
