Advance your nursing career in a dynamic, team-oriented environment as a contract RN serving a high-acuity Med Surg/Telemetry unit. This opportunity calls for expertise and adaptability, with expectations to float across multiple Med/Tele units as part of a robust float pool. Work within a large, well-equipped hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Designation, teaching hospital focus, and comprehensive resources.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract assignment
- Must be willing to float to all Med/Tele units as required
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Tele RN experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (and must pass EKG competency exam during onboarding)
- Med Surg certification is a plus
- Skills in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucometer use
- Experience managing insulin and heparin drips, with comfort titrating drips by HR

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive patient-centered care to a diverse adult population (RN ratio: 1:4-6)
- Monitor and assess patients with a variety of diagnoses in a fast-paced setting
- Utilize the EPIC EMR system and operate Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, and Phillips monitors
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including CNAs, discharge and resource nurses, physicians, and respiratory therapy
- Draw blood from CVLs and administer medications appropriately
- Participate in patient care activities such as turning, ambulation, and patient safety protocols
