Elevate your nursing career in a dynamic and advanced healthcare setting, supporting a high-acuity Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a diverse patient population. This contract role is ideal for experienced RNs eager to expand their expertise in a Level I Trauma and Magnet Designated hospital.
Schedule/Hours:
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- No on-call requirement for travelers
- Holiday expectation: Travelers will work at least 75% of holidays
- Up to 6 days off per contract (excluding holidays); additional days must be appended to end of contract
Qualifications:
- Active RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Tele RN experience, preferably in resource roles
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Experience in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and critical skills including trach care, PIV starts, chest tube and drain management, and PCA pumps
- Proficient in administering cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids
- Comfortable floating between facilities within designated regional networksflexibility is essential
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for patients with complex renal, hepatic, GI, and surgical trauma diagnoses
- Manage a varying patient load (1:4-6, may surge up to 1:7-8)
- Independently interpret cardiac rhythms, manage multiple drips, and respond to acute medical needs
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
- Document care in EPIC EMR, utilize Alaris IV pumps, and operate med dispensing via Omnicell
- Float between units/facilities within the region to support patient care as needed
