This contract position offers the opportunity to work on a well-equipped 25-bed unit utilizing advanced technology, including remote telemetry, wound care equipment, and telehealth resources. The unit is supported by experienced staff, including dedicated patient care techs and a unit secretary during the day, ensuring comprehensive patient care and collaborative workflows.
Schedule Details:
- Every other weekend required (Saturday & Sunday)
- Flexible weekday scheduling
Qualifications:
- Valid, unencumbered RN license
- Current BLS certification; NIH and CPI certifications preferred
- Strong assessment abilities and documented experience in medical-surgical nursing
- Proficient with IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Skilled in IV placement and Foley catheterization procedures
- Comfort with PRN floating, primarily among medical-surgical units
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic documentation system
- Professional presentation in black or royal blue scrubs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care, prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and positive experience through hourly rounding and BSSR practices
- Manage medication administration using state-of-the-art Pyxis systems and oversee patient monitoring via remote telemetry
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes
- Practice in accordance with all unit-specific policies and hospital guidelines
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and staff mentorship as part of a seasoned, supportive team
