Provide critical nursing care within a busy Level II Trauma Center specializing in surgical and orthopedic patient care. This contract opportunity offers a 12-hour night shift schedule, allowing for focused patient attention during overnight hours. The role requires a resilient and adaptable nursing professional capable of floating across med-surg and telemetry units to support various inpatient areas as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care on surgical and orthopedic units with patient ratios typically around 1:6.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips accurately to assess patient conditions.
- Utilize Care View and EPIC charting systems (on-site training provided for EPIC).
- Assist in other patient care activities, potentially including aide duties to promote team efficiency.
- Maintain adherence to infection control policies, including COVID-19 vaccination or approved testing protocols.
- Provide consistent coverage including every other weekend and holiday shifts, with flexibility and teamwork emphasized.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid KY or Compact RN License with current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- A minimum of 1 year of RN experience within med-surg or telemetry, with Level I or Level II trauma exposure.
- Proven ability to manage change effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Ability to read and interpret tele strips confidently.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
