A healthcare opportunity is available for a registered nurse with specialized experience in GI Lab and Endoscopy procedures in the Elgin, IL area. This contract position offers a consistent 40-hour workweek with scheduled 8-hour day shifts starting between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. The role is ideal for an RN with a minimum of two years of experience performing colonoscopies and endoscopies, and additional skills in EUS and ERCP are a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform GI Lab and Endoscopy procedures, averaging 30-60 cases daily
• Assist with patient care and procedural preparation in the GI Lab and Endoscopy unit
• Maintain accurate documentation using the Epic electronic health record system
• Adhere to safety protocols, including passing an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher
• Potentially float to nearby locations including Evanston, Highland Park, Skokie, and Glenbrook as needed

Qualifications and Required Experience:

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
• Current CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Minimum two years of clinical experience in GI Lab/Endoscopy settings
• Proficiency with Epic software strongly preferred
• Ability to pass an EKG competency test upon submission

Schedule:

• 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
• Start times at 7 a.m. or 8 a.m.
• No weekends or holiday shifts required

Additional Details: This role demands attention to detail and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently. Experience with advanced endoscopic procedures such as EUS and ERCP is beneficial but not mandatory. The nurse will also have the flexibility to float across several nearby sites, providing a varied clinical experience.
