Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in Gastrointestinal (GI) Lab, Endoscopy, and PACU Pre-op/Post-op care. This contract position offers a consistent 40-hour workweek with an 8-hour day schedule starting between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., providing a balanced routine. The role involves managing 30-60 cases per day in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in GI Lab, Endoscopy, and PACU Pre-op/Post-op settings
  • Active Illinois RN license
  • Current CPR and ACLS certification (ACLS must be valid upon submission)
  • Proven proficiency with Epic electronic medical records system
  • Successful completion of EKG interpretation test with a score of 80% or higher

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing GI and endoscopic procedures
  • Administer moderate sedation safely and monitor patients pre- and post-procedure
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of patient care
  • Adhere to clinical protocols and maintain accurate patient documentation within Epic
  • Float to various nearby locations as needed, including Evanston, Highland Park, Skokie, and Glenbrook

Work Environment and Conditions:

  • No weekend or holiday shifts required
  • Minimal days off permitted, ensuring consistent scheduling
  • Moderate sedation administration necessitates attention to detail and proficiency
