Join a specialized cardiovascular nursing team on a 30-bed unit dedicated to delivering intensive care to medium to high acuity patients recovering from cardiac surgical procedures and managing complex cardiac conditions. This contract opportunity is ideal for Registered Nurses with critical care expertise who thrive in a dynamic hospital environment and are comfortable floating to medical-surgical units as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-level nursing care to patients with cardiac diagnoses including post-operative care for cardiac artery bypass surgery, carotid endarterectomy, and pacemaker insertion.
• Manage patients with acute myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and other complex conditions.
• Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio not exceeding 1:4 to ensure quality and attentive care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to tailor individualized care plans.
• Float to Med/Surg units as required, utilizing critical care skills to support varying patient populations.
• Utilize EPIC charting system for accurate and timely documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years critical care nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Proficient in EPIC electronic health records.
• Flexibility to float between Cardiovascular Unit and Med/Surg units.

• Position is contract-based.
• Must be a W-2 employee of the staffing agency.
