Job Description

A nursing professional with acute care experience is needed for a contract position at a medical center located in Dover, NH. This role involves providing skilled bedside care in a 29-bed med-surg unit, delivering high-quality patient care with a focus on safety and effective communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care on a med-surg unit with a patient ratio of 6:1
  • Utilize advanced skills including dysrhythmia recognition and management
  • Operate medical equipment such as PCA pumps, IV pumps, and telemetry monitors
  • Participate actively in bedside care conferences and safety rounding to enhance patient experiences
  • Document care accurately using Meditech Expanse electronic medical records
  • Collaborate with LNA support staff; note there is no unit secretary on the floor
  • Adhere to unit guidelines, Dress Code: clean and professional; scrub color is flexible
  • Flexibility to float to other units as needed

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care experience, preferably in med-surg or telemetry setting
  • Dysrhythmia competency strongly preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
  • Ability to work every other weekend as per scheduling needs
