An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with a strong background in GI Lab and Endoscopy to work on a contract basis in Des Plaines, IL. This role involves providing expert nursing care in a high-volume endoscopy unit, performing 30-60 cases daily. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience with colonoscopies and endoscopies; additional experience with EUS and ERCP procedures is advantageous but not required.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois RN license
- Minimum 2 years of GI Lab/Endoscopy nursing experience
- Current ACLS and CPR certification
- Ability to successfully pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to submission
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records system
- Strong clinical skills and familiarity with procedural nursing in GI settings
Schedule/Hours:
- 8-hour day shifts (7 AM or 8 AM start)
- 40 hours per week
- No weekends or holidays required
- No more than 7 days off during the contract
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies
- Monitoring patient vitals and safety during procedures
- Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Utilizing Epic for thorough and accurate documentation
- Potential to float to nearby locations such as Evanston, Highland Park, Skokie, and Glenbrook as needed

This contract role requires submission of an updated resume, one professional reference within the last year, Illinois nursing license, a completed skills checklist, and evidence of passing the EKG test.
