A registered nurse with expertise in GI Lab, Endoscopy, and PACU pre-op/post-op care is needed for a contract position based in Des Plaines, IL. This role supports a busy gastroenterology unit performing 30-60 cases daily, requiring moderate sedation administration and coordination of patient care throughout the perioperative process.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care in GI Lab and Endoscopy pre-op and post-op settings.
- Administer moderate sedation and monitor patients during procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Utilize Epic electronic health record system effectively.
- Float to nearby locations as needed, including Evanston, Highland Park, Skokie, and Glenbrook.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in GI Lab, Endoscopy, or PACU pre-op/post-op nursing.
- ACLS certification required.
- Current CPR certification.
- Successful completion of an EKG competency test with a minimum score of 80%.
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records.
- Ability to provide references from a recent supervisor (within 1 year).
Schedule:
- 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week.
- Start times between 7 AM and 8 AM.
- No weekend or holiday shifts.
- Floating to other sites is required, but no more than 7 days off between assignments.
