Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour shifts (0700-1900 or 1900-0700)
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend
• No on-call required
• Holiday coverage: 75% expected
• Rotating 6-week schedule cycle

Qualifications:

• Active RN licensure, with current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS required
• Minimum 18 months of recent MedSurg/Telemetry experience
• Proficiency in general Med/Tele nursing, including: stroke/NIH assessments, chest tube management, PIV starts, trach care, cardiac rhythm identification, NGT placement, drain/tube management, and PCA pumps
• Experience managing cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids
• Prior experience with Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Philips monitors
• Ability and willingness to float within regional facilities as patient care needs shift

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate within a dynamic, team-driven unit to deliver exceptional care for patients with stroke, cardiac, respiratory, GI, and complex medical conditions
• Manage patient loads with ratios typically 1:5-6 (may flex during surge staffing)
• Complete NIH stroke assessments, medication titrations, and technical procedures
• Supervise and coordinate with CNAs, phlebotomists, RTs, and unit support
• Participate in streamlined orientation, including hospital and departmental onboarding
