An opportunity is available for a registered nurse skilled in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing to provide care within a dynamic Level I Trauma and Magnet-recognized teaching hospital. This contract role supports patient population needs primarily on Med/Tele units covering ED Holds in a facility recognized for its stroke and chest pain centers.

Location Overview: Situated in Concord, NC, this hospital features 874 licensed beds with a dedicated 43-bed Emergency Department (ED) and additional boarding beds. The vibrant community offers a mix of suburban charm and access to metropolitan amenities, making it an attractive area for healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and complex medical conditions.
  • Manage critical care interventions including trauma protocols, cardiac rhythm monitoring, chest tubes, blood administration, and sedation.
  • Execute routine Med/Tele nursing duties such as tracheostomy care, infusion management, and drainage system care within scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, hospitalists, intensivists, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Adapt swiftly to floating assignments across regional facilities as required.
  • Utilize EMR system EPIC, along with Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing technology.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Registered Nurse license with a minimum of 2 years Med/Tele or ED experience preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS mandatory; PALS, CPI, and TNCC preferred for ED roles.
  • Demonstrated competence in trauma care, cardiac monitoring, IV starts, and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to manage patient ratios of approximately 1:5 and collaborate effectively with CNAs and charge nurses.
  • Flexible to floating within regional facilities and willing to work every other weekend and approximately 75% of holidays.

Schedule:

  • Weekend rotation: Every other weekend.
  • Holidays: Work approximately 75% of scheduled holidays.
  • Up to 6 days off approved excluding holidays, with contract adjustment if needed.
  • No on-call responsibilities.
