Job Description
Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Telemetry care is sought for a contract role in the Concord, NC region. This position supports a Level I Trauma Teaching Hospital with 874 licensed beds, recognized for excellence with Magnet designation and specialized centers for chest pain and stroke treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for patients with complex medical and surgical diagnoses including bladder and renal cancers, liver failure, dialysis, renal and pancreas transplants, and acute rejection.
- Manage surgical trauma patients presenting with chest tubes, spinal cord injuries, gunshot wounds, motor vehicle accidents, and traumatic falls.
- Utilize comprehensive Med/Tele clinical skills such as cardiac rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy care, PIV starts, chest tube and drain management, NGT placement, and management of various tubes and pumps.
- Administer and monitor medication drip therapy, including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids.
- Collaborate with support staff including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists.
- Float within assigned regional facilities as needed, within the scope of practice, with paid travel time between sites.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years Med/Tele RN experience preferred.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Stroke experience and proficiency with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors.
- Commitment to weekend rotations every other week and 75% holiday work.

This contract opportunity requires candidates to have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility and willingness to float among regional hospitals. Orientation includes two days of departmental training and a new employee orientation.
Paid parking is offered onsite. Scrubs in navy are required.
