An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with a focus on medical-surgical and coronary care to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic hospital setting. This position is a contract role, requiring a commitment to 12-hour shifts including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties for approximately 13 weeks.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current New York State RN license is mandatory.
• Minimum of one successful travel nursing assignment completed; first-time travelers are not eligible.
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Previous hospital RN experience preferred, with a strong background in coronary care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must be obtained within three months of hire.
• Proficient knowledge of nursing principles and patient care standards.
• Ability to assess patient needs including clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual aspects.
• Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and possibly assume charge nurse responsibilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Comfortable floating between Med/Surg and PCU units.
• Demonstrated skill in safety assessment, including the correct use of lifts and patient transfers.
• Ability to function effectively under stress with creative problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in Coronary Care, Medical-Surgical, and Progressive Care Unit settings.
• Monitor patient status, administer medications, and collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Participate in safety protocols and support the education of patients and families.
• Perform duties as assigned, including potential charge nurse tasks.

This assignment follows the 100-mile radius rule and requires 12-hour shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., encompassing weekends, holidays, and call schedules.
