Job Description
Deliver specialized nursing care within a dynamic 30-bed Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) dedicated to patients requiring advanced medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical support. This role involves managing medium to high acuity cases, with patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics presenting complex cardiovascular and related health conditions. The units patient-to-nurse ratio limits to 1:4, ensuring focused and quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiovascular patients including those post cardiac artery bypass surgery, carotid endarterectomy, and other cardiac and pulmonary conditions.
- Monitor patient status vigilantly, recognizing potential instability and responding promptly.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Utilize EPIC charting system efficiently for accurate documentation.
- Flexibly float to Med/Surg or Critical Care units as needed, maintaining excellent adaptability in care delivery.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Critical Care nursing.
- Proficient in EPIC electronic health records.
- Ability to maintain a high level of clinical judgment and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
