Deliver specialized orthopedic nursing care on the night shift in a well-established 30-bed unit at a respected hospital located in Chesterfield, MO. This 13-week contract position offers flexible guaranteed hourschoose from 36 or 48 hours per weekand no call requirements. Night shift orientation occurs on days, and candidates must be available for the full week of orientation.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care for orthopedic patients.
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with ancillary departments ensuring optimized comfort and safety.
• Maintain patient rights, confidentiality, and professional accountability in alignment with regulatory standards and facility policies.
• Adapt to physical demands involving patient lifting, bending, stooping, and ambulatory support, following safety protocols.
• Float as needed to similar or lower acuity units within the facility.

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure eligible or licensed in Missouri.
• Minimum 2 years inpatient orthopedic nursing experience.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (American Heart Association only).
• Experience with electronic medical records, preferably EPIC.
• Team-oriented, dependable, and flexible.
• Must comply with flu vaccination requirements during flu season (Nov 1 Apr 1).

Shift Details:

• Nights, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
• Weekend hours as required (typically every other weekend)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Work involves standing and walking most of the shift, with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Exposure to blood and bodily fluids follows strict safety guidelines.
• Scrub color: black; other attire not permitted.
