A travel nursing opportunity is available for an RN with Med/Surg and Telemetry expertise, located in the Charlotte, NC area. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic healthcare setting supporting Adult and Geriatric patients with a variety of complex medical conditions. The position provides a stimulating environment dedicated to decompressing the Emergency Department and specialized units while delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with common diagnoses such as COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF exacerbation, pulmonary embolism, and stroke.
• Manage med-surg and telemetry patient needs including cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, chest tube management, PIV and Foley insertions, and medication drip administration (cardiac drips, heparin, blood products).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including CNAs, secretaries, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists.
• Monitor telemetry and complete patient assessments per shift.
• Float as needed within the regional hospital facilities, maintaining professional standards across multiple units.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid RN license with Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing experience (minimum 2 years preferred).
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale.
• Skilled in complex nursing procedures including NGT placement, drain/tube management, PCA pump operation, and medication drips.
• Comfortable floating within the designated region and adapting to varying unit demands.
• Experience with Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitoring systems is beneficial.

Scheduling:

• 12-hour shifts, 7a7p or 7p7a.
• Every other weekend rotation.
• No call requirements.
• Holiday work required approximately 75% of the time; up to 6 days off can be approved excluding holidays.
