Job Description

Deliver skilled nursing care in a dynamic MedSurg/Telemetry unit located in vibrant Charlotte, NC. This travel nursing opportunity supports a 32-bed unit averaging full census, focusing on patients with stroke, seizure, altered mental status, renal conditions, wounds, and related diagnoses. The unit emphasizes teamwork and family-oriented culture, utilizing cutting-edge resources such as EPIC EMR and Philips monitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to med/surg and telemetry patients, including cardiac rhythm interpretation and management of non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone)
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacists, respiratory therapists, case managers, and clinical nurse specialists
  • Maintain accurate documentation and utilize EPIC EMR for patient care orders and assessments
  • Adhere to unit protocols for patient monitoring and administer treatments such as nebulizer therapy
  • Flexibly support floating assignments within the regional facilities as needed, with appropriate compensation for travel time

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license with at least 18 months of Med/Surg and telemetry nursing exposure
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage cardiac drips confidently
  • Willingness to float within a defined healthcare region
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Schedule:

  • Shifts available on days and nights with nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:5-6, occasionally up to 1:7-8 during surge periods
