Job Description

A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in telemetry and neuro care to support an inpatient unit specializing in stroke patients. This contract position offers challenging, meaningful work in a supportive environment where clinical skills in advanced nursing care are highly valued.

Located in Chapel Hill, NC, the position demands commitment to a night shift schedulethree 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend, including holidays as needed. Flexibility is essential, as floating between multiple facilities may be required to meet fluctuating patient care needs.

Responsibilities include managing a patient load of 5 to 6 per nurse, with duties encompassing comprehensive telemetry monitoringboth remote and on-unitfeeding tube care, wound care including wound vac management, central and peripheral line care, IV starts, and blood product administration. This role also involves caring for patients with complex neuro conditions and multiple comorbidities, focusing heavily on stroke rehabilitation and recovery.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years nursing experience.
  • Certification in BLS and NIH Stroke Scale.
  • Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records system.
  • Demonstrated experience with telemetry monitoring, including remote technologies.
  • Skilled in feeding tube management, wound care, and vascular access procedures.
  • Ability to manage isolation precautions and understand complex patient populations.
  • Strong time management in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
  • Willingness to float throughout healthcare facilities in the system.
