In this role within a reputable teaching hospital, you'll provide care for high acuity Tele/Medical-Surgical patients in a 41-bed, cardiac-focused unit. Work alongside colleagues committed to patient-centered care, while expanding your skillset and resume with trauma level II experience and exposure to advanced cardiac patient management. Enjoy enriching downtime exploring local attractions, parks, and vibrant neighboring communities.
Schedule/Hours:
- 13-week assignment
- 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 pm 7:00 am
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week (option for 48 upon request)
- Three weekends per 6-week schedule; every other holiday
- Floating: Required within skillset, with advance notice; may include nearby campuses (8-11 miles)
Qualifications:
- Active compact RN license
- AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years strong Cardiac/Tele RN experience
- At least 1 prior travel assignment
- Trauma II experience
- Recent EPIC charting (checkoff class required)
- Must have Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation skills and pass Tele tests
- Experience with drips, PIV insertion, and drain/tube management
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, adaptability, and resilience
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage care for acute cardiac and Tele/M/S patients (Afib, CHF, sepsis, etc.)
- Titrate antiarrhythmics, heparin, diuretics, and other therapies
- Oversee patient safety and provide education
- Support and potentially precept students/new hires
