A rewarding opportunity awaits skilled RNs with strong cardiac and telemetry experience to provide high-quality patient care on nights in a high-acuity Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. This travel position supports a 41-bed unit caring for complex cardiac populations with a diverse range of diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, heart failure, post-ablation care, dialysis, sepsis, and more.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional nursing care to high-acuity cardiac and medical-surgical telemetry patients.
- Utilize in-depth tele and 12-lead EKG interpretation skills and manage drips including antiarrhythmics, heparin, and amiodarone.
- Perform procedures such as PIV insertion, chest tube and nephrostomy tube management.
- Work as a float nurse across nearby campuses within skillset parameters, with appropriate notice.
- Adhere to unit protocols and participate in orientation and skill validation, including EPIC charting checkoff.
- Provide mentorship to students and new hires as required in this teaching hospital environment.
- Maintain excellent critical thinking, assessment, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current active Compact RN license.
- Minimum of 2 years strong cardiac/telemetry nursing experience with at least one travel assignment.
- Trauma level II experience preferred.
- Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting system.
- Ability to pass telemetry competency tests.
Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, with guaranteed 36 hours weekly (48 hours accepted).
- Rotating three weekends every six weeks and holiday scheduling.
- On-call and call-back not required.
- Contract duration: 13 weeks, starting 4/20 or 5/4 with bi-weekly orientation.
