Job Description

A registered nurse is needed to support patient care in a critical care environment located in Champaign, IL. This contract position requires a professional skilled in nursing practices, with responsibilities encompassing comprehensive patient assessments, development, and implementation of care plans, and ongoing evaluation to ensure quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct initial patient assessments upon admission and develop individualized plans of care aligned with unit standards.
  • Implement nursing interventions and patient care procedures effectively and safely.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation reflecting nursing care for seamless healthcare team integration.
  • Monitor and modify care plans based on patient response and continuous evaluation.
  • Prioritize patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards promptly.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members through bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and other established protocols.
  • Collaborate with critical care teams for ICU lite patients and hospitalists for patients requiring advanced care.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute constructively to peer learning.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Proven experience in critical care or medical-surgical nursing preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care standards.
