This opportunity is for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong cardiac background to provide exceptional care in a medical cardiology unit. The position involves working in a 24-bed telemetry unit that focuses on post-catheterization care, including management of PCI, ICD, PPM, and ablation patients. Candidates must be proficient in reading telemetry strips and administering cardiac drips.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips accurately to ensure patient safety.
- Administer cardiac drips and manage related interventions.
- Provide post-cardiac catheterization care utilizing TR Band and femoral approach protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care in a telemetry setting.
- Maintain appropriate RN to patient ratios during shifts to optimize care quality.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience with a strong cardiac focus.
- Proficient in telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms.
- Experience with post-cath procedures such as PCI, ICD, PPM, and ablation.
- Ability to perform and manage cardiac drips confidently.
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse license.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Schedule and Location:
- Shifts: Days, evenings, and nights with rotation.
- Hours: 36 hours per week with every other weekend rotation.
- Location: Cambridge, MA.
