This assignment places you at a large, high-acuity facility with over 600 beds, a Level 1 Trauma Designation, and teaching hospital statusideal for RNs seeking a dynamic, learning-rich environment. You'll collaborate with specialty teams and gain exposure to advanced healthcare technologies and a wide variety of MedSurg/Tele patient populations. Here, clinical practice is informed by expert leadership and continuous education, accelerating your growth and enhancing your resume with critical trauma and medical-surgical experience.
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- Schedule cycle: 6 weeks
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts per cycle
- No on-call
- Holiday shift participation required
Qualifications:
- Active RN license and BLS certification required
- Must pass an EKG competency exam (BCR required)
- Minimum 2 years recent MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience
- ACLS and national MedSurg or Nephrology certification preferred
- First-time travelers welcome
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a variety of complex adult patients, including orthopedic trauma, post-op, and chronic disease cases
- Deliver skilled nursing care: trach care, chest tube management, IV insertion/central line maintenance, wound monitoring
- Interpret cardiac telemetry and titrate medications (excluding BP titrations)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, discharge planning, and patient education (focus on renal/fluid management)
- Float as needed within adult MedSurg/Telemetry units
