Job Description

Deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, supporting a large teaching hospital known for its Level 1 Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Center designation. As a MedSurg/Telemetry RN, you will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, providing care to a diverse adult patient population with a range of medical and surgical needs.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract position (exact length provided at interview)
  • Must be flexible to float to all Med/Tele units as needed

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS preferred (must pass EKG competency during onboarding if not currently certified)
  • Experience with trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucometer use necessary
  • Proficiency with insulin and heparin drips, as well as titration to heart rate
  • Strong understanding of patient ratios (RN: 1:4-6) and working within a busy, team-oriented atmosphere
  • Certification in MedSurg is a plus
  • Open to first-time travelers

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based nursing care for adult med/surg and telemetry patients
  • Effectively manage patient assignments, recognizing changes in condition and intervening appropriately
  • Float among Med/Tele units based on hospital needs
  • Collaborate with CNAs, unit secretaries, discharge/resource nurses, and other clinical staff
  • Document accurately in EPIC EMR system
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, promoting safe transitions of care
