A critical care role is available for experienced Registered Nurses seeking a contract position in a fast-paced medical/surgical telemetry unit. This opportunity involves comprehensive patient care and coordination on a busy 32-bed unit specializing in complex cases including diabetes, kidney, liver, and heart failure, respiratory conditions, stroke, and cardiac dysrhythmias.

Key responsibilities include using evidence-based practices and clinical decision-making to deliver safe, therapeutic care while maintaining the highest patient safety standards. Nurses will collaborate closely with charge nurses, unit leadership, hospital supervisors, and clinical resource nurses to support a dynamic and demanding environment with frequent admissions and discharges.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience in medical/surgical or telemetry units
• Proficient in wound care, insulin and heparin infusions, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, nasogastric and feeding tubes
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable working with patient ratios of 1:5 during day shifts and 1:6 at night, with tele-tech support
• Ability to float to MST and overflow ICU/medical-surgical units occasionally
• Strong communication skills and clinical judgment in a fast-paced acute care setting

Schedule/Hours:

• Three 12-hour shifts, primarily 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday rotations mandatory
• No on-call responsibilities
