Job Description

Deliver specialized nursing care on a 37-bed medical telemetry unit dedicated to patients with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions. This position offers the opportunity to provide skilled support to individuals recovering from cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker placements, and managing critical cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor telemetry strips and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms to deliver timely interventions.
  • Administer medications and manage cardiac drips with precision.
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with diagnoses including CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, Pneumonia, and cardiac co-morbidities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and transfers.
  • Float to applicable units as needed, demonstrating flexibility in scheduling.
  • Charting patient information using the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts RN license.
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, with demonstrated telemetry skills.
  • Telemetry certification required.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret telemetry strips.
  • Experience with cardiac drip management and post-cardiac procedure nursing preferred.
  • Comfortable with rotating shifts for day and evening roles; night shifts do not rotate.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night Shift: 36 hours every other week.
  • Day and evening shift rotations may include 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a shifts with low rotation frequency.
