Provide exceptional patient care as an experienced RN in a dynamic cardiac and renal medical-surgical telemetry unit. This travel opportunity offers a rewarding 13-week assignment on a night shift schedule (12-hour shifts from approximately 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM) with guaranteed hours of 36 per week, and the option to extend up to 48 hours. The role requires strong clinical skills with a focus on cardiac telemetry patients and critical care interventions in a busy teaching hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled nursing care to high-acuity cardiac and telemetry patients, including those with arrhythmias, CHF, COPD, sepsis, dialysis, and post-ablation care.
- Perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs, initiate and titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, heparin, amiodarone), manage chest tubes, nephrostomy tubes, and continuous bladder irrigation.
- Use advanced assessment and critical thinking skills to manage complex patient conditions effectively.
- Collaborate within a strong, experienced team under stable leadership.
- Support float assignments between nearby campuses as needed with appropriate notice.
- Chart using EPIC electronic medical records after a required checkoff.
- May assist with precepting students and new hires in this teaching hospital environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, active compact RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of robust cardiac/telemetry nursing experience.
- Completion of at least one travel assignment.
- Previous experience in a Level II trauma setting.
- Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
- Proficient in telemetry and 12-lead EKG interpretation; ability to pass required tele tests.
- Resilient, adaptable, and professional with strong communication skills.

- Night shift hours: 12-hour shifts, three weekends out of every six-week schedule, every other holiday.
