Job Description

A skilled RN with Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience is needed for a 13-week travel assignment in Boonville, IN. This position supports a busy 41-bed Cardiac Renal Unit operating primarily on 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM7:00 AM) with guaranteed 36 hours weekly (48 hours optional). The role includes floating within the facility and nearby campuses, requiring strong adaptability and critical thinking. Recent EPIC charting experience and proficiency in telemetry and 12-lead EKG interpretation are essential.

Qualifications:

  • Current active compact RN license
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Cardiac/Telemetry nursing with trauma level II exposure
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment completed
  • Recent experience with EPIC electronic charting system
  • Telemetry and 12-lead EKG interpretation skills (telemetry test required)
  • Competent in initiating and titrating drips (e.g., antiarrhythmics, Heparin)
  • Skilled in PIV insertion, chest tube and drain management, nephrostomy tubes, and other specialized care
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and resilience in fast-paced environments

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-acuity nursing care for patients with cardiac conditions including Afib, flutter, blocks, heart caths, CHF, COPD, sepsis, and dialysis
  • Manage telemetry monitoring and medication drips safely and effectively
  • Float between campuses as needed with advance notice
  • Participate in teaching/precepting students or new hires in this teaching hospital environment
