Dedicated Registered Nurses (RN) with Medical-Surgical and Telemetry expertise are needed for a travel assignment on a high-acuity Cardiac Renal Unit focused on complex cardiac patients. This 13-week opportunity, starting between April 20 and May 4, offers a night shift schedule with guaranteed hours and the chance to contribute to a well-established team.
Location Overview:
The assignment is based in Boonville, Indiana, with cross-campus float opportunities within an 11-mile radius, including nearby facilities. This region combines small-town charm with access to broader metropolitan resources, providing a comfortable and convenient setting for healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional nursing care to patients with cardiac and telemetry needs, including complex arrhythmias, heart catheterizations (non-interventional), CHF, COPD, sepsis, and post-ablation care.
- Perform advanced clinical tasks such as tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, initiating and titrating critical drips (antiarrhythmics, heparin, etc.), PIV insertion, chest tube and nephrostomy tube management, and continuous bladder irrigation.
- Maintain accurate, detailed patient documentation using EPIC charting software (recent experience required).
- Collaborate within a team environment, providing mentorship to students and new hires when needed.
- Adapt to floating within skillset across nearby campuses as required, with appropriate notice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active compact RN license with current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Minimum two years experience in cardiac telemetry/medical-surgical nursing, with at least one prior travel assignment and trauma level II experience.
- Proven ability to pass tele testing and demonstrate strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Resilient, adaptable, and capable of managing change while delivering high-quality patient care.
- Social and team-oriented personality, comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Schedule & Requirements:
- 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Guaranteed 36 hours weekly, with option for 48 hours; overtime applies beyond 52 hours on a 48-hour schedule.
- Weekend shifts: three weekends every six weeks, with every other holiday worked.
- First to float within skillset; cross-campus float with 2-hour notice.
