This opportunity is for an experienced Neuro Surgical RN to take night shifts in a dynamic hospital setting. This is a 13-week contract position based in Boonville, IN, with start dates available in early or mid-April. The role requires working 12-hour night shifts and involves care for neuro and neuro-surgical patients including those recovering from CVAs, elective spine surgeries, and cerebral angiograms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for neuro and neurosurgical patients, including stroke and trauma cases.
• Perform NIHSS and dysphagia screening, neuro assessments, and manage telemetry monitoring.
• Manage strict intake and output, catheter care, heparin drip initiation and titration, blood product administration, and venipuncture.
• Manage NG tubes and indwelling drains, administer stable drips such as Protonix or Lasix.
• Float between two closely located campuses as needed, assisting with mid-shift assignments.
• Chart patient care using EPIC electronic health record system following required checkoff.
• Collaborate within a well-established nursing team supporting continual patient and staff development.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current active compact RN license.
• Minimum two years of strong neuro nursing experience including trauma level II.
• At least one travel assignment completed.
• Recent EPIC charting experience is mandatory.
• Certifications: AHA BLS and NIHSS.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working night shifts and handling 12-hour shifts without block scheduling.

Schedule & Work Details:

• 12-hour night shifts, 6:30pm to 7:00am.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week, with option for 48 hours; overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts.
• Weekend coverage required three out of every six weeks.
• No on-call or callback duties.
• Float duties between two campus locations within an 8-11 mile radius, with proper notice.
