A 13-week contract opportunity is available for an experienced RN with Med/Surg expertise in a fast-paced observation unit. This role is based in Boonville, IN, offering a day shift schedule with guaranteed hours and a supportive team environment. The position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to float across nearby campuses within the healthcare system.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current active Compact RN license required
• Minimum two years Med/Surg experience, including recent travel assignment
• Recent EPIC electronic health record experience (checkoff class mandatory)
• AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Skilled in cardiac cath recovery, post-surgical care, neuro assessments, drip management, and catheter care
• Strong critical thinking and assessment abilities
• Ability to meet float requirements across multiple nearby campuses within a 12-hour day shift (6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.)

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for observation patients including post-cath cardiac cases, neuro assessments for stroke/TIA, post-surgical recovery, GI/urology procedures, and more
• Administer and manage drips such as Heparin and Insulin; perform NG tube insertions and blood transfusions
• Float as required between designated campuses with appropriate notice
• Support peer training and student precepting in this teaching hospital environment
• Uphold unit standards including wearing navy blue scrubs, no conflicting logos, and adherence to attendance policies

This contract offers a guaranteed minimum of 36 hours per week, with option for up to 48 hours. Overtime applies after 52 hours on larger schedules. Schedule includes three weekends every six weeks and alternating holidays. Note: COVID-19 vaccination is not currently required but subject to change.
