Caring for a diverse patient populationranging from orthopedic and trauma cases to complex medical-surgical diagnosesmeans every day brings new learning opportunities. From cardiac monitoring to wound care and discharge planning, you'll refine your abilities in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma setting. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and be supported by CNA staff, resource and charge nurses, unit secretaries, and 24/7 access to hospitalists and intensivists.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- Six-week schedule cycles
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 shifts per 12 shifts
- Holidays: at least one major holiday per season
- No on-call requirements
Desired Qualifications:
- RN license and minimum 2 years med-surg/tele experience
- BLS required; BCR and ability to pass EKG competency exam mandatory
- ACLS and National medical-surgical/nephrology certification preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, IV insertion and management, wound care, chest tube and trach care, cardiac monitoring, and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver care to orthopedic, trauma, and complex med-surg patients
- Perform coordination and discharge planning
- Start and manage IVs, interpret telemetry, manage PIVs and central lines
- Patient and family education with emphasis on renal/fluid management
