This travel nursing role provides the opportunity to be part of a renowned 637-bed teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma Designation, a Chest Pain Center, and a Stroke Center. Work alongside experienced leaders who foster best practices and multidisciplinary collaboration. Immerse yourself in a fast-paced MedSurg/Telemetry unit where every day enhances your clinical acumen through exposure to a wide range of patient conditions, new technology platforms, and dynamic workplace culturesideal for expanding your professional credentials.
Schedule/Hours
- 12-hour shifts (7A7P or 7P7A)
- Rotating weekends (5-6 out of every 12 shifts in a 6-week cycle)
- No on-call
- Holiday coverage as coordinated
Qualifications
- RN license, minimum 2 years MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience
- BLS required
- Basic Cardiac Rhythm competency (EKG exam required)
- ACLS preferred, Med-Surg or Nephrology certification highly valued
- Willing to consider first-time travelers
Skills & Experience
- Clinical assessment and Level 1 trauma med-surg experience
- Cardiac monitoring, telemetry interpretation, insulin and heparin drip management
- IV insertion/care, central line maintenance, wound care
- Discharge planning and renal fluid management education
- Working proficiency with EPIC EMR, Alaris pumps, Pyxis, and Philips monitors
Duties
- High-acuity patient care, including trauma, orthopedic, and post-op management
- Coordinating with CNAs, dedicated transport teams, and resource nurses
- Interdisciplinary team collaboration for care management
- Patient/family education
