This travel nursing opportunity provides not only professional growth in a fast-paced MedSurg/Tele environment but also a chance to immerse yourself in Georgias warm hospitality. With over 35 beds and a diverse patient population, this setting is ideal for advancing your skills through exposure to innovative clinical practices and dynamic leadership styles.
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts: 7A7P or 7P7A
- Weekend rotation: 56 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
- No on-call required
- Work one shift on each major holiday per cycle
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 2 years recent MedSurg/Tele experience
- BLS required
- Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) proficiency; must pass an EKG competency assessment
- ACLS and national certifications such as MedSurg or Nephrology preferred
- Strong clinical skills, including cardiac/telemetry monitoring, wound care, post-op monitoring, care coordination, and patient education
- Proficiency in IV insertion/care, central line management, trach/chest tube procedures, glucommander, and medication titration
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient care for orthopedic/trauma, medical, and surgical cases with complex comorbidities
- Participate actively with an interdisciplinary team (CNA support, discharge nurse, 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist access)
- Perform comprehensive assessments, coordinate care, educate patients/families, and facilitate discharge
- Adapt to rapid patient turnover and potential floating to similar adult MedSurg/Tele units as needed
- Document using EPIC; utilize advanced monitoring equipment and protocols
