A Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing opportunity is available in Bonaire, GA, at a large, Level 1 Trauma designated teaching hospital with specialty Chest Pain and Stroke Centers. This contract position offers exposure to a diverse patient population and advanced clinical care within a busy but collaborative unit environment.
Responsibilities include managing patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases (including ESRD and hemodialysis), post-op urology and renal surgeries, as well as common med-surg co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, CHF, infections, and electrolyte imbalances. The role requires expertise in clinical assessment, telemetry interpretation, wound care, IV and central line management, and dialysis procedures (training provided if needed). You will collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team, focusing on discharge planning and patient education particularly around renal and fluid management.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of Med-Surg experience
- BLS and Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) certification required; ACLS and Medical-Surgical or Nephrology Nursing certification preferred
- Proficient in trach care, chest tube management, IV starts, insulin and heparin drips, telemetry interpretation
- Experience with peritoneal dialysis management, wound care, and care coordination
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A) including weekends on a rotating schedule, and select holidays
