Experienced RNs eager to expand their skillset in a dynamic environment will thrive in this contract Med-Surg/Telemetry opportunity at a renowned major medical facility. As a key team member on a 23-bed unit in a Level 1 Trauma, Teaching, Chest Pain, and Stroke Center, youll provide comprehensive post-operative care and manage complex medical-surgical patients with a supportive interdisciplinary team.

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
• Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
• No on-call; one major holiday shift per cycle

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active RN license with minimum 2 years Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS and national med-surg/nephrology certifications preferred
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Successful completion of Basic Cardiac Rhythm EKG competency
• Skills in trach care, chest tube management, IV insertion/care, wound care, central line management, post-op monitoring, and medication management
• EMR fluency (EPIC preferred); strong care coordination and patient education abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive care for post-surgical and medically complex adults (joint/spinal/bariatric surgery, CHF, diabetes, infections, etc.)
• Administration and management of non-titratable drips, insulin, basic cardiac monitoring
• Wound and trach care, PCA pain management
• Discharge planning with emphasis on renal and fluid education
• Effective collaboration with CNAs, charge/resource nurses, hospitalists, and respiratory therapy

Support and Resources:

• CNA and unit secretary coverage
• 24/7 respiratory and hospitalist support; central telemetry monitoring
• Free on-campus parking or paid deck option; RN navy scrubs
