Provide advanced patient care as a registered nurse on a thriving med-surg/telemetry unit within a renowned Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital. This contract opportunity focuses on working with a dynamic clinical team while supporting patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. Here you will interact with a variety of diagnoses including heart failure, A-Fib, kidney disease, respiratory failure, sepsis, and more. Collaborate closely with hospitalists, intensivists, and 24/7 respiratory therapists in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts, 7A-7P or 7P-7A
• Rotating weekends: 5-6 shifts per 12 in a 6-week cycle
• Holiday coverage: one major holiday shift as designated per schedule

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active RN license
• Minimum two years of recent med-surg/telemetry RN experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• EKG competency (must pass during onboarding)
• Skills in trach care, chest tubes, IV insertion/central line management, wound and groin care, cardiac telemetry, and discharge planning
• Strong clinical assessment skills; comfortable with EPIC EMR and modern hospital equipment

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care for a diverse adult population; ratios 1:4-6
• Implement care plans for post-op and cardiac patients, including those with comorbidities
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, discharge nurses, and resource float teams
• Support discharge planning and provide patient education with an emphasis on renal/fluid management
• Participate in unit floating as needed
