Provide skilled nursing care on the 4th Floor Neuro unit specializing in neurosurgery and neuroscience patients. This contract position offers a valuable opportunity to work in a focused environment with a dedicated patient population requiring specialized neurological care.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver excellent, patient-centered nursing care to neurosurgery and neuroscience patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to neurological changes.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR system.
• Adhere to unit protocols, including dress code and infection control policies.
• Float to other units as needed to support staffing requirements.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of neuro and neurosurgery experience.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) certifications required.
• Strong knowledge of neuroscience nursing principles.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:6 effectively.

Schedule:

• Shift: 6:45 AM 7:15 PM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• No call responsibilities.
