Job Description
Deliver exceptional care in a fast-paced medical-surgical setting with a focus on neuro acute care. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative interdisciplinary team dedicated to high-quality patient outcomes. The unit encompasses 24 beds, serving general medicine and neuro/post-stroke acute care patients. Utilize your expertise while enjoying a supportive and professional environment.
Schedule/Hours
- 12-hour night shifts: 6:45 PM 7:15 AM
- 36 hours guaranteed weekly, with potential for up to 3 cancellations per contract
- Every 3rd weekend rotation required
Qualifications & Experience
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent med/surg experience, with emphasis on neuro acute care and post-stroke management
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications (Issued by AHA)
- Proficiency in dysphagia screenings, stroke assessments, BCMA processes, and Cerner EMR
- Strong organizational skills and expertise in interdisciplinary communication
- Willingness to float within the acute care division, including to nearby facilities within a 25-mile radius
- Preferred: TR band management experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to patients with diverse medical and neurological conditions
- Complete neuro assessments and dysphagia screenings according to protocol
- Uphold accurate medication administration and documentation standards
- Maintain effective communication within the multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate adaptability when floating to different units as needed
Professional Expectations
- Dress in navy blue scrubs; comply with The Joint Commission and CMS guidelines for attire
- Closed-toe, backed footwear required for safety
