This role places you with a distinguished medical-surgical/telemetry team managing a diverse patient population with a focus on cardiac, respiratory, and neurological diagnoses. By collaborating with skilled providers and supporting staff, you'll encounter a breadth of workplace practices and leadership styles, helping you develop as a well-rounded professional and enrich your resume with sought-after acute care experience.
Schedule/Hours
- 12-hour shifts: 6:45am7:15pm or 6:45pm7:15am
- Rotating weekends: Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required: 75% of major holidays
- Floating within the region as needed (paid travel time between facilities if floated mid-shift)
- Up to 6 days off can be approved (excluding holidays)
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure plus BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 18 months recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
- At least 6 months of EPIC EMR experience
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, care of patients with common medical devices, wound care, IV initiation, blood products, and experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem/Amiodarone)
- Strong adaptability and willingness to float among multiple facilities within region
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for a dynamic med/surg telemetry patient panel
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team (CNA support, experienced charge nurse, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, 24/7 intensivists, hospitalists, virtual and on-site support)
- Maintain excellent patient ratios (1:5-6; may surge) and documentation standards using EPIC
- Adapt to rapid census and acuity shifts in a fast-paced environment
