Job Description
Deliver exceptional nursing care in an acute care unit focused on cardiology and med-surg patients. This contracted opportunity is based in Bessemer, AL, and provides the chance to work with a variety of patients including those pre- and post-heart catheterization, as well as general cardiology cases such as chest pain and hypertension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to a patient ratio of 1:6 on a 30-bed unit
- Utilize acute care skills and med-surg expertise to monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation utilizing Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
- Float as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability within the unit
- Uphold patient safety through adherence to BLS certification standards and acute care protocols
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of experience
- Experience in med-surg nursing, with cardiology experience preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- Comfortable with acute care equipment and technology
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, dependable, and adaptable attitude
- Willingness to float and work every other weekend on PM shifts covering 36 guaranteed hours weekly
